How to inject moisture into your skin

How to inject moisture into your skin

Whether you are working from home, self-isolating or trying to figure out how this has been both the longest and shortest year of our lives, I think a pamper session is in order. We have heard a lot about the “new normal” but when last did someone ask you how you are feeling or coping with all these changes. I for one have always been a very routine-based person. Being freelance for the last five years has instilled the importance of routine in one’s life and times like these are no exception to the rule. That’s why I have perfected my skincare routine. I know what works for me, and what doesn’t. One thing is for sure, natural winter skin doesn’t look good on anyone. It can be dull, dry and in need of extra moisture. That’s why I am sharing my favourite glow up skincare routine because simply put, glowing skin is happy skin.

So how do you prep your skin? Exfoliating is such a great way to buff dead skin as well as increasing your circulation. By buffing the skin you are boosting its regenerating abilities by producing new cell turnover which makes your skin extra glowy. This means that your skin is left feeling fresh, soft and healthy. I indulge in two types of exfoliating. The first is during my shower. I tend to use a wetter sugar-based scrub. I feel that this works best for my skin. It also doesn’t leave it feeling dry. My favourite is this charcoal and black sugar polishing mask by Freeman. It’s ultra-purifying and smells incredible. I even have my fiancé indulging in some pamper time. The second type of exfoliating method is dry brushing. Dry brushing is absolutely essential for helping to detoxify by increasing blood circulation and promoting lymph flow/drainage. Dry brushing unclogs pores in the exfoliation process. It also stimulates your nervous system, which can leave you feeling invigorated from head to toe.

At the end of the day, beauty and skincare are completely subjective. I am sharing what works for my skin type (which has gotten increasingly drier as I have gotten older.) So moisture is really important to me.

Let me know your tried and tested methods of pure luxurious pamper time and how you inject moisture into your skin. It’s the only one we have, lets look after it!
